Getting humbled, one way or another

It’s officially fall now…but you’d never know that judging by the weather. I went shopping for cute fall clothes and can’t wear them! Our temps have been in the low 90s. But at least we’re not Southern Cal baking in 100+ temps. Let the global warming doomsday prophecies resume!

Last Sunday was Color Sunday on the Grand Mesa. Powderhorn is the anchor of the event as we offer lift rides and a variety of activities. With the weather so great we saw record numbers of ‘leafers’.

Look at that lift line. And you know as soon as your family makes it to the loading area, little Timmy will have to pee.

After my work duties, adventure buddy and I went up to ride the West Bench Trail. Along with all the other amateur picture takers (I cannot use the word photographer), I enjoyed taking photos of the amazing color.

I was setting up to take a pic of Carrie riding by when The Doodle photo-bombed me….and it actually turned out really fun.

You almost expect to see a hobbit in this picture.

Biking this trail is really fun. It’s an easy 6-11 mile out & back. Or you can ride to the top of Powderhorn’s main lift, then down the service road. It’s very fast and very fun!

Another of Carrie

Carrie got this one as I went by. I like how the leaves are kicked up.

We ended up at this viewpoint with piles of Grand Mesa’s signature lava rock. FYI, this is also a fun drop in point in the ski season 😉

“Command those who are rich in this present world not to be arrogant nor to put their hope in wealth, which is so uncertain, but to put their hope in God, who richly provides us with everything for our enjoyment.”  1 Timothy 6:17

I very much enjoyed playing outside last Sunday. Thanks God!

If the pics aren’t great they are beautiful. How can you miss with God’s material?
